•   Proposed projects

The purpose and spirit behind every Ika Mission Water project is to help people have safe drinking water, enough water for cooking meals and personal hygene, and to show them and to tell them that God loves them. IMWP's focus is on providing water wells to lessen the affliction of poverty without prejudice to tribe, or religion. We grieve to think of children suffering and dying because of water born disease, we strive to make their lives and their future happier and healthier.

      This year so far...

IMWP has been involved with 26 water related projects so far this year. We have done 8 surveys, (Vertical Electric Soundings) drilled 4 wells, hand-dug 4 wells, and done maintenance / repairs at 10 wells sites. Highlights of this year's work are: Drilling a well for Ojuwo Ojekele, Ogodo and Ojotu, hand-digging a well for the Mission of Mercy Orphanage in Kogi State and drilling at The Haven Of Hope, (a sister mission) in Jos, Plateau State.

  •     Current projects

Our most recent projects are wells at Ojotu, a village close to Ika, and the Ministry of Mercy Orphanage in Otutulu. We have four villages where people are waiting for us to test for water and three other places expecting us at anytime to show up to drill their well for them.

     What's next?  Nov.-Dec. 2011

The rainy season has passed, now with dry weather every day, we can get to work - to me this is what I call "The Drill Season". We have so much work to do this year and next. Many people in many village communities are waiting and hoping for us to reach them. We'll keep striving to help as many as possible, hoping for your prayers and for God to touch people's hearts; for them to give financially to this good work that God has given us to do for Him.

To get started we have 3 hand dug wells, dug down to water tables waiting for us to fabricate and install the pre-cast concrete rings for casings, and a forth well we've just started digging. We also have two drilled wells waiting to be fully developed and three more wells in need renovations and finishing. That's nine wells to produce a life giving flow of clean, fresh, safe drinking water to fill thousands of buckets and basins every day. To complete these projects and to move on to sharing God's love with more people we need money and we could use some help. Without the help we will get the job done, only that it will take longer before we can move on to help others. Without financial assistance we won't be doing much at all. If you would like to help please see Prayer/Praise/Participate.
